Tifton, GA

History

The Towne Cinema was located on Virginia Avenue at the northern edge of the mall parking lot. It was opened May 29, 1969. Operated by Carmike Cinemas was closed September 7, 1989 with “Ghostbusters II”. It has since been demolished.

In the same mall, The Tifton Cinema 6 was opened by Floyd Theatres on February 19, 1993. Carmike took over operations in 1998 and the Cinema was renamed the Carmike 6. Carmike was then bought by AMC and it became the AMC Classic Tifton 6. AMC closed this location on November 1, 2023.

Amenities included digital projection and sound, 3D technology, online ticketing and first run films.

Tifton Cinema Entertainment Center

 

We want to positively impact the residential and business community of Tifton, GA. We are seeking to work with the the Chamber of Commerce and the city to make a greater impact to help make Tifton a great place to live and work.

We want to make a “3rd place” where people can hang out with their family and friends to enjoy their 2-hour vacation of going to the movies. It will be a place to have kid friendly fun.
